Dear Central NC Council Scouters,

The Central NC Council Camp Barnhardt Team is excited to present to your Barnhardt Weekend Camp 2020! Although we are not able to spend our summer with over 500 Scouters as planned, the Central NC Council will be hosting weekend camps kicking off Friday, July 3rd.  These series of weekend Camps will run Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon and Scouts while maintaining Social Distance will be able to complete 3 Merit Badges.

Campsites will consist of 1 larger Troop, or possibly 2 smaller Troops from similar geographical areas and form a Group. Groups will never exceed 25 total Scouters, and there will be a strict limit of 100 campers per session. Each Group will be assigned a colored facemask/covering and their own campsites..

Inside campsites, to maintain social distancing, each Scout will have their own tent. Scouts are permitted to hammock camp but must always maintain social distancing guidelines. Camp staff will lead their assigned Group to and from Program and Activity areas throughout the weekend. Groups will never interact or come into contact with one another.

To maintain social distancing Breakfasts and Lunches will be delivered to Campsites throughout the day. Troops will need to plan, pack, and prepare Dinners on Friday and Saturday nights.

There is also the expectation that all Participants self-monitor for two weeks before arrival. This includes taking their temperature daily, as well as monitoring several other symptoms of Covid-19.

Scout & Leader temperatures will be taken upon arrival to Camp John J Barnhardt. If a single Scout has a temperature above 100.4 (what the CDC considers a fever) the entire Group will be sent home.

Temperatures will be taken each morning by a CJJB Staff Member. If a Participant has a fever over 100.4, they will be isolated to their tent,  have their parents contact immediately and the Scout will need to leave Camp.

Many details are still being worked out; we are VERY excited about this summer. This is going to be a summer unlike any other for Camp John J. Barnhardt.

We hope to see you there!
