Memorial Grove

When you stand in front of the Lone Scout Memory Lodge, with your back to the lodge, you may notice a row of trees directly in front of you, at the edge of the woods.

Perhaps these trees have never caught your attention before, but take a moment to observe them now.

Look at the very tall, pointed tree to the far left.  Isn't that a Sequoia?

And what about the very tall, pointed tree to the far right?  Isn't that a Redwood?

And you thought you were in North Carolina!

Relax!  You're still in good old NC - you're even still at Camp Barnhardt!

You have discovered, Memorial Grove!

In 1972, the Elbeetian Legion of the Lone Scouts of America planted a row of unusual trees and called it Memorial Grove.  Most of these trees still stand today and have markers in front of them with the name of the tree and LSA tribe.  A few of the trees are gone, and a few of the markers may need to be unearthed, but here is a list of the markers currently visible.  The list goes in order from the Sequoia on the right, to the Redwood on the left.
