Native Dancers Take Over Camp Cabarrus, Honors Local Scout Friday and Saturday, the Cabarrus PowWow Association, a local non-profit Native American Cultural Association, held their annual PowWow at Camp Cabarrus. Over 100 dancers from all across NC, SC, GA, TN, FL, VA, and AZ were present at the camp, and hundreds of local families visited the camp to watch the dancers and learn about native culture. Everyone had a wonderful time and the weather was incredible. Many scouts and scouters visited the event, as well as many boys who had never been involved in scouting. Troop 128 Mourns the Loss of a Scout This is an extremely difficult time for our entire Scouting family. We are sad to confirm the death of a Scout who was participating in a troop activity at Stone Mountain State Park over the weekend. The health and safety of our youth members is of paramount importance to the Boys Scouts of America. At this time we have arranged for counselors to meet with members of the troop and we will continue to assist the family and Scouts with their needs. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the family of this Scout.

Changes to BSA Youth Protection Leader Training Effective June 1, 2010
Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers, regardless of their position.
New leaders are required to take Youth Protection training within 30 days of registering. Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer's Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be reregistered.
