Do something great for your new Cub Scouts!  Send them and their parents to our fall Cub-o-Ree! 

 

Activities Include:

A Bobcat Blitz!

BB Guns!

Archery!

Games!

Campfire!

Cubs and their parents arrive Friday evening between 4pm-6pm for check-in if camping or early Saturday morning if attending for the day.  Friday night they will enjoy a campfire and breakfast will be available for those camping.

 

Cost is $5/scout day only or $10/person (Parent & Scout) if camping and includes breakfast.

 

The Cub O Ree is fast approaching. October 12 and 13 will be here before we know it! Please forward these reminders and information to your units.

  • Registration forms are on the Union District website and need to be turned in by next Monday, October 8th
  • Registration for Friday and Saturday includes breakfast Saturday morning and all the activities
  • Registration for Saturday only does not include a meal, just the Saturday activities
  • Funderburk Farms is located jsut South of Monroe at 1631 Stack Rd. Monroe NC 28112
  • Cub Leader Position Specific training will be offered on Saturday morning 9am-12n
  • Union District will sponsor a Scout Store from 9a-1p Saturday at the Cub O Ree
  • Packs sponsoring a game or activity, please let us know what you are bringing so we avoid duplication of games
  • Individual campfires are not allowed unless in a container and elevated off the ground. There is a centrally located fire pit that everyone can use.
  • If you have families new to camping, we will have volunteers on site to assist with camp setup

Cub O Ree Schedule

 

Friday October 12

 

4-8pm        Checkin and campsite setup

9pm          Campfire celebration

10:30pm    Taps

 

Saturday October 13

 

7-8am       Breakfast(for those camping Friday night)

8:30 am    Opening Ceremony

9am          Games/Events/Activities

12:30pm   Closing Ceremony

 

Volunteers are needed for the following:

  • Check in Friday and Saturday
  • Parking
  • Game/Event setup
  • Staff to run the events
  • Food Preparation Saturday morning
  • Cleanup

Please let me know of any volunteers coming with your unit. If each unit could provide one volunteer we'd be in great shape! Remember that older Boy Scouts can gain leadership experience and earn service hours also.
