Central NC Council Shooting Sports

 

The Central NC Council offers a wide variety of shooting sports activities at Camp Barnhardt, from BB guns for Cub Scouts to pistol shooting for Venture Crews.  During summer camp Archery, Rifle Shooting and Shotgun Shooting merit badges are offered, along with Pistol Shooting for Venture Crew members. In the non-summer camp season, troops and crews have the opportunity to schedule a time to use the range.

NRA Training Courses
 
NRA Basic Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course—A certified RSO is required for all shooting events at the unit, district and council level (other than BBs for Cubs). If your unit has an RSO and an instructor, you can conduct unit level shooting events.
 
NRA Instructor Rifle Shooting Course - A certified rifle instructor can teach scouts rifle shooting basics, rifle merit badge sessions and serve as a BB range master for cub scout events. A certified rifle instructor is required at any rifle shooting event at the council, district and unit level.
 
NRA Instructor Shotgun Shooting Course - A certified shotgun instructor can teach scouts shotgun shooting basics and shotgun merit badge sessions. A certified shotgun instructor is required at any shotgun shooting event at the council, district and unit level.
 
NRA Instructor Pistol Shooting Course - A certified pistol instructor can teach venture scouts pistol shooting basics. A certified pistol instructor is required at any pistol shooting event at the council, district and unit level.
