Create/Upload New Documents


You can create and upload new documents into the organization document library with this function.  These instructions assume that the Document Library main edit page is displayed.

To create and upload a document:

  1. If you need to change the organization, choose the organization from the drop-down list at the top of the Document Library page.

  2. Click the New Document radio button in the Functions list.

  3. Click the OK button at the bottom of the page.
    The Edit Document page will be displayed.  Since this is a new document, all the fields will be blank.

  4. Enter a description of the document in the Description text box.
    This field will be displayed as the title of the document on the Main Information page and the Document Library View page.

  5. If you know the file name and the path, enter the file name and full path in the filename text box and skip to step #9.
    This is the document file that will be uploaded to the Document Library.

  6. If you do not know the path, click the Browse button to browse for the path and file name.
    The Choose File dialog box will be displayed.

  7. Navigate to the folder in which the document is stored.

  8. Select the file name and click the Open button on the Choose File dialog box.
    The system will close the dialog box and store the name and path information in the Filename text box.

  9. Select a folder on the server in which to store the document from the Select a Folder drop-down list.
    You can store the document in a folder or leave it on the Library Desktop (top level folder).

  10. The Date to Start Displaying Document default to today�s date.  If you want to start displaying the document at a later date, enter a date in the Date to Start Displaying Document text box.
    Enter the date in mm/dd/yy format.

  11. If you want to put an end date to the display of the document, enter the date in the Date to End Displaying Document text box.
    Enter the date in mm/dd/yy format.

  12. Click the Add button at the bottom of the page.
    The system will upload the document and add it to your library.  The Document Library main edit page will be displayed.  The new document is displayed in the Document List.

  13. If you are through with the Document Library function, click the Done button to return to the Main Information page.
