Fulfill an Order
When an order is placed, the credit card or check information is verified and if approved, the order is placed in an In Progress - Authorized and Unfulfilled status. Once shipment is made, the order status is changed to Order Complete - Paid and Fulfilled. An email is sent to the customer indicating the shipment and amount charged to the credit card or bank.
To fulfill an order:
If the View Order page is not displayed, click the View
Detail link for the unfulfilled order on the
List Orders page.
The View Order page will be displayed for the order. The detail product
line item will display the ordered amount, the amount previously shipped
(backorder situations), this fulfill amount, inventory available, product
description, unit price and total price for the line item.
Enter the amount of items shipped in the Fulfill Amount
text box(s).
If some items are not being shipped, those items are considered not able to
be fulfilled and the Order is considered complete.
Click the Fulfill Order button at the bottom of
the page.
The system will verify the information for the order, making sure that price
and tax information has not changed. The Fulfill order page will be
displayed.
If the shipping & handling needs to be changed, enter the type of shipment in the first Shipping & Handling text box.
If the shipping amount needs to be overridden, enter
the shipping & handling cost in the second Shipping & Handling text box.
This field will only be available if the store configuration is structured
so that the order total can be changed.
If the tax needs to be overridden and the field is
available, you can manually enter the tax amount in the Tax text box.
This field will only be available if the store configuration is structured
so tha the order total can be changed.
Enter any comments or notes about the order in the Fulfillment Receipt Notes.
Click the Continue button at the bottom of the page.
If the order total has changed, the Fulfill Order page
will be redisplayed so that you can verify the information.
If the order total has not change, the View order page will be displayed at
this point.
Click the Complete Fulfillment button at the
bottom of the page.
The View Order page will be displayed with the updated order information.
The Order Tracking portion of the page shows the sequence of events for the
order.
If this completes the shipments for the order, the order status will be
changed to Order Complete - Paid and Fulfilled.
Click the Done button to return to the List Orders page.
