Article Create & Edit


Newsletter articles can contain text, photographs, and graphics.  If you are using Internet Explorer version 5.5 or above, you can also insert images through the Rich Text Editing feature.

Articles can be left in an incomplete state and unpublished until they are ready for publication.  You just need to set the Publish flag for the article to start appearing in the newsletter.  These instructions assume that the Article List page is displayed.  A list of current articles for the newsletter is displayed in the Article List.

To create or edit an article:

  1. If creating a new article, click the New Article radio button in the Functions list on the Article List page.

  2. If editing an article, select the article from the list and click the Edit Article radio button in the Functions list.

  3. Click the OK button.
    The Add and Modify Article page will be displayed.  The article properties include title, email reference (author�s reference), the article text, and a publish indicator.

  4. Enter the title of the article in the Article Title text box.
    This field is free-form and is not edited, but it is required.

  5. Enter or change the article in the Article text box.
    If you are using Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher, a Rich Text Editing text box will be displayed.  For more information, please refer to Rich Text Editing and then return to these instructions by clicking this topic again.
    If Rich Text Editing is not available for your browser, a normal text box will be displayed so that you can enter or paste your article.

  6. If you want the article to be published with the newsletter, leave the Publish checkbox turned on.
    A checkmark in the checkbox indicates that the article will be published.

  7. If you want to delay publishing this article, click the Publish checkbox to turn it off.
    A blank checkbox indicates that the feature is turned off and the article will not be published (displayed with the newsletter).

  8. When you are through entering the article properties and text, click the Add button at the bottom of the page.
    The article will be saved and the Article List page will be displayed.  The article will be included in the Article List.

  9. If you are through adding or editing articles, click the Done button to return to the Newsletter page.

  10. If you are through with the newsletter function, click the Done button to return to the Main Information page.
