Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is the assessment of and treatment given to an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care by a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available.
Participants will learn how to assess, treat, and (when possible) contain emergencies within the scope of their training. Youth and adult Scout leaders over age 14 are invited to participate and earn their certification.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 14 years old and hold current adult CPR/AED certification. Click Here to Register for the CPR/AED Training.
Course participants MUST pre-register. The course roster is filled on a "first registered, first reserved" basis. Maximum course size is 16 participants. Cost is $55 per registrant.
This Course will run from 12-16 hours. Any requirements not completed in day one will be scheduled for the next day.
The meals that will be provided are Crackerbarrel-Friday night, Saturday breakfast, Saturday lunch and a light Saturday dinner. Lodging is available Friday night by calling Jeremy Forsythe at 704-961-8559.
