?2014 Popcorn Campaign

Council Popcorn Chair, Lisa Walter

Popcorn Campaign Update from the Council Chair, Lisa Walter:

Although the official sales period for all districts, with the exception of Rowan, ended on Monday, November 3rd, it’s not too late to sell!  As a reminder, units who would like to continue selling can do so through Monday, January 5th, 2015.  So, if you have leftover popcorn please consider working to deplete all of your inventory instead of returning the product to Council.  Not only will this benefit your unit, it will also benefit the Council and in turn, the Scouting program.

A sales generation idea for those of you who have extra popcorn, want to continue selling or for those in Rowan who will be kicking off sales later this month.  Have you thought about contacting local businesses in your area to see if they want to place an order for their employees?  It’s a great holiday gift, incentive or thank you to staff.

Thanks for all you do to make Scouting in our area great!

A few additional reminders:

  • Orders are due on November 10th
  • Final payment & prize orders are due for any product sold through November 10th by December 5th
  • Units still have a chance to earn an additional 2% incentive by 1) growing their sale over 2013 (1%) and submitting all funds on time (1%)
  • The base incentive is 30%
  • The max unit incentive is 36% - this can be achieved if the unit 1) had a representative attend the Council kick-off in August (1%), 2) submits all funds on time (1%), 3) grows their sale (1%) over 2013 and 4) opts out of prizes (3%)
  • Units who choose to opt out of prizes will also receive an additional 3%
  • All Scouts are eligible to receive a patch if they sold at least $20 of popcorn.  Patch orders are done through the Trails End website.
  • Bonus gift cards are coordinated through Council.  A list of Scouts by Unit who earned this incentive must be sent to your District Popcorn Chair by the 12/5 prize deadline.
  • There are two bonus sales levels - $650 = $20 Walmart gift card and $1,500 = $50 Walmart gift card
  • Popcorn returns cannot exceed 10% of total dollars ordered
