The Wood Badge course will take place over two weekends at Camp John J. Barnhardt, beginning at 8:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, and recessing at 5:00 PM on Monday, September 21; the course will resume at 8:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, and conclude by 5:00 PM on Monday, October 12.
Attendance is required throughout the course.
To attend the course, you must:
Be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America, at least 18 years of age;
Be current on your Youth Protection Training (reminder: Youth Protection must be renewed every two years);
Have completed Position Specific Training for your principal role in Scouting; and
If you are a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster, have completed Introduction to Outdoor Leader (all other participants are encouraged, but not required, to complete an Outdoor Leader Skills course before attending Wood Badge).
The second weekend features an outdoor camping experience, so you need to be capable of functioning safely in an outdoor environment. Participants will plan menus and provide their own food for six meals during that weekend.
Finally, we’d love to have you join us at Camp Barnhardt on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, for the Wood Badge Kickoff Dinner. This is an informal opportunity to join with Wood Badge alum, the staff for the Fall 2015 course, and Scouters (like you!) interested in learning more about the next course for food, fellowship, and more information about all things Wood Badge.
