National Scout Jamboree Contingent

Youth Deposit Registration

Council Contingent – The Central N.C. Council currently has been allocated 2 Troops consisting of 72 youth and 8 adult leaders and 1/2 Crew consisting of 16 youth and 4 adult leaders to attend the 2017 National Scout Jamboree, which will be held in New River Gorge, West Virginia at Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve.  The council must inform the National Office of the total number of participants we plan to send to the Summit by the end of November 2015.  We will reduce the number of groups allocated if we do not have enough commitments by that date.  Please complete both the National BSA* and Council online registrations if you wish to be considered for this event. 

To attend, a Scout must meet the following qualifications:

• Scouts must be at least a First Class Scout by July 19, 2017
• Scouts must have completed sixth grade or be at least 12 years of age by July 19, 2017 and have not reached your 18th birthday (scouts) or 21st birthday (Venturer) by July 28, 2017.
• Participate in pre-jamboree training experience (conducted by the Central N.C. Council).
• Be approved by your Scoutmaster and the local Central NC Council Jamboree Committee

Financial Details - Reserve your place now by submittting your online registration and a $100.00 deposit. The total cost for youth participants to attend with Central N.C. Council Jamboree Contingent will be $1600 ($1450 if all fees paid by 10/30/15).  This fee includes Jamboree program, transportation, meals, special Central N.C. Council items (only for participants), use of patrol and troop equipment, and all pre-Jamboree trainings.  Scouts need to register with a $100 deposit in order to be considered for 1 of the limited slots, to attend the 2017 Jamboree.

All registration deposits are non-refundable

A second mail-in payment of $150 will be due by November 1, 2015.
A final mail-in payment schedule will be distributed at the first mandatory parent/scout orientation meeting
to be held at Camp Barnhardt in mid-November 2015 (registrants will be contacted with exact dates/times).

The Group Registration information (excluding Unit type and Number) will be that of the Parent/Guardian.  All other information should be that of the Youth Applicant.
